Ollie Horgan steps away from post at Galway United

Ollie Horgan has stepped away from his role as Galway United’s assistant manager ‘for the foreseeable future’.

The former Finn Harps boss had been apart of John Caulfield’s management team since 2023.

The club have thanked Horgan for his ‘instrumental contribution’ to their return to the Premier Division.

Caulfield says he’s ‘delighted’ that ex St. Pat’s manager Jon Daly has agreed to join them as first-team coach his new assistant.

In a statement on their website, the club said:

“We regret to announce that Ollie Horgan has stepped away from his position as Assistant Manager of the Men’s First Team for the foreseeable future.

Ollie joined the club ahead of the 2023 season and brought with him his trademark energy, experience, and unwavering commitment. His contribution was instrumental in our First Division title success and our return to the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division.

We sincerely thank Ollie for his hard work and dedication during his time with the club and wish him all the very best.
