Donegal children requiring assessment for disability needs not seen within legal timeframe

It’s been revealed that children who required an assessment for disability needs in Donegal have not been seen within the legal timeframe so far in 2025.

Under the Disability Act, children are required to be assessed within six months.

Donegal is one of 9 HSE regions in which this right has not been upheld to date this year.

Latest figures contained in the Irish Independent show 14 children required an assessment in the second quarter of this year, and zero were completed.
