A man required hospital treatment after an alleged assault on High Road in Letterkenny last Saturday.
At approximately half past midnight, a man was reported to have been attacked by another man, who was described as being tall, of slim build, dark-haired and wearing a black jacket and black trousers.
The man in question then made off on foot towards Main Street.
Gardaí are appealing to those who may have information to get in touch.
