An update on the long-awaited National Flood Relief Scheme is expected in January.
Towns including Castlefinn and Raphoe are included in the plan, which have suffered in the past from flash flooding.
Cllr Patrick McGowan says these towns, like many across Donegal and beyond, have been waiting long enough to see measures implemented.
He adds that he is grateful that recent damage has been minimal, but warns it should not be taken for granted:
