Man (80s) dies after getting into difficulty off South Dublin coast

Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard has appealed to the public to keep clear of the coastline during stormy sea conditions.

It comes following the death of a man in his 80’s after he got into difficulty off the south Dublin coast.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to an incident at the Great South Wall in Poolbeg, Dublin 4 at around 2.15pm yesterday.

The man was removed from the water but was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The public has also been asked to heed safety warnings.
