An application has been made under the Housing Infrastructure Investment Scheme to complete the Aghilly Road in Buncrana.
The road is the main walkway for residents of certain areas of the town to get to the town centre, and works planned for it aim to improve safety.
A decade ago, it received temporary works; however, local Cllr Fionán Bradley has expressed concern about the safety of the footpath given its proximity to the main road.
