A Midlands-North-West MEP has questioned the European Commission about recent shipments of hormone contaminated Brazilian beef.
MEP Ciaran Mulllooly was speaking during the AGRI Committee in Brussels earlier this week.
The Commissioner acknowledged that this situation is unacceptable and that the Brazilian Minister has been contacted to suspend certification of the organisations and farms involved.
However, MEP Mullooly says the damage has already been done in Ireland and other parts of the EU:
