Calls to increase guide dog allowance for first time in 30 years

Guide dog owners say they need Government relief to help cover the increased cost of keeping their animals.

The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind says that maintaining a dog costs around € 1,200 a year, but could rise significantly.

It’s backing calls for the Guide Dog Tax Allowance to be increased for the first time in more than 3 decades.
