Human error blamed for Buncrana Community Hospital bed count mistake

The HSE has been on the receiving end of backlash after it had to admit that the wrong information was given in relation to the number of beds that will be available when Buncrana Community Hospital reopens.

It emerged yesterday that commitments made to see the full 41 beds restored cannot be kept and the number will actually be 36.

11 beds were double-counted.

John Joe McGowan, the Integrated Service Lead with the HSE, told Greg Hughes this morning that it was a human error:
