Over 1,200 drivers have been detected for speeding offences during the first 48 hours of an Garda Síochána’s May Bank Holiday Roads Policing Operation.
Among those was a Donegal motorist who was caught travelling at 147 km/h in an 80km/hr zone on the R245 in Milford.
Since Thursday morning, nearly 110 drivers were detected holding a mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt.
