A reduction in speed limit on the R245 between Thorndale and the Kiltoy/Golf Course Road junction has been called for under the impending Urban the Mixed Urban Speed Limit Review.
The motion was raised by Councillor Donal Coyle, who says this was prompted by recent incidents on the road.
As there are now housing developments on both sides of the stretch Cllr Coyle thinks that the speed should be reduced to 60km/hr and implemented urgently:
