
Donegal recorded some of the most severe winds in the country during Spring 2026, according to Met Éireann’s latest Climate Statement.
The county was singled out for a number of notable weather events, particularly at Malin Head.
Storm-force winds were recorded there on March 25th, which also saw the season’s highest 10-minute mean wind speed of 89 kilometres per hour.
Malin Head also recorded the strongest gust of the spring, reaching 115 kilometres per hour on the same day.
