Bonagee United’s FAI Cup adventure ended in disappointment as they were beaten 5-4 on penalties in their third round clash away to Wexford side Gorey Rangers.
Normal time and extra time failed to separate the teams and after 120 minutes of football it was still scoreless and it all boiled down to a penalty shoot-out.
The host team came out on top by the narrowest of margins.
And so after wins over Clonmel Celtic and Rathkeale AFC in previous rounds, the Donegal club make their exit from this year’s competition.
