Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a burst main in Buncrana this morning.
Customers in Buncrana, Burnfoot, Bridgend, Manorcunningham, Carrigans, Newtown Cunningham and surrounding areas may be experiencing a disruption to their supply or loss of pressure.
Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.
“A trunk main has burst and our crews are on site carrying out repairs. We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and I can assure customers crews are working to restore a full supply as quickly as possible.”
Supply is expected to be restored at 3pm. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
