Justice Minister to meet Law Society amid legal aid dispute

The Justice Minister is expected to meet with representatives from the Law Society today, amid a legal aid dispute.

The row over the introduction of a flat fee in criminal cases has resulted in some solicitors withdrawing from the legal aid panel.

There are plans for a three day stoppage of services this week.

Minister Jim O’Callaghan has been firm in his position to stick with the changes, but has agreed to engage with representatives.
