
There are renewed calls for an immediate project in Buncrana to ease traffic and pedestrian safety issues at the Mill Bridge.
The bridge is part of the wider Inner Relief Road improvements, but local councillors say it should be decoupled from that project, and completed first.
Cllr Fionán Bradley says measures implemented in late 2024 to improve safety for foot passengers haven’t worked, and ultimately a new footbridge is needed.
He says the department should allow the council go ahead with a project to address the issue for once and for all while waiting for the wider Inner Relief Road project to start……….
