Donegal County Council must show they are supporting local businesses rather than just saying paying lip service to the idea.
Cllr Michael Naughton was speaking at a special council meeting this week to agree a number of variations to the County Development Plan, during which he successfully challenged a number of zoning recommendations for the draft Donegal Town Area Plan.
Cllr Naughton says rate payers who are seeking to expand their businesses cannot because they are land locked.
He says there needs to be a focus on economic development, and the council has a responsibility to support the ratepayers who sustain it…………………
