An Garda Síochána has welcomed its newest recruit – a black labrador.
20-month-old Vesper is joining the Garda Dog Unit on International Dog Day in the North Western Region.
He’ll now be used to search for drugs, cash and guns.
His handler will take him home after work, where he remains part of the family.
