Barry Cotter has joined CSKA Sofia from Derry City with the 27-year-old making the move to Bulgaria for an undisclosed fee.
The right-sided wing-back played 30 times for the Candystripes since joining at the start of the season, scoring twice in the process.
The Clare man played every minute of Derry’s recent Europa League double header against the Bulgarian side.
Interim manager, Mark Connolly, said it was a move that benefitted all parties.
“Barry was obviously an important member of our squad, however this is a fantastic opportunity for him, and the club didn’t want to stand in his way.
“We want to wish Barry every success at CSKA.”
