INMO members vote overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action

Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.

99 percent of voting members were in favour, up to and including strike action.

It follows a six week in-person ballot.

The union says the Government’s failure to offer serious proposals on a new public sector pay agreement is putting pressure on members, even before they turn up to hospitals for work.
