Emergency exercise taking place this morning at Donegal Airport

Donegal Airport will be carrying out an emergency exercise this morning, with management saying members of the public may notice increased activity.

The exercise will run from 9 o’clock this morning until 12 noon.

Emergency Exercise Mike is a planned emergency exercise involving Donegal Airport, and a number of emergency and response agencies.

As a result, management say people may notice emergency vehicles and personnel in and around the airport between 9am and midday

As part of the exercise, the Rosses AC running track and sports field will be closed for the duration to facilitate the operation of the Irish Coast Guard helicopter in the area.

The Bunbeg Coast Guard team will be on site and will secure the area on the day to ensure the exercise can be carried out safely.

Management say they appreciate the cooperation and understanding of passengers, visitors and the local community while the exercise is taking place.
