Police are making a fresh appeal for information to locate Gary Anderson, who remains unlawfully at large having failed to return to prison earlier this week.
Gary Anderson, aged 29 years old, was sentenced in 2023 to 15 years for murder and had been on temporary release from prison on Monday.
He was last seen that morning, in the Eastway area of Creggan in Derry, at approximately 11am.
Police say extensive enquiries are continuing to locate Gary Anderson.
Searches, CCTV checks and increased patrols are being carried out, with police also liaising with An Garda Síochána.
Detective Inspector Gareth Lavery says they are investigating every report received following Monday’s public appeal and are doing all they can to locate Mr Anderson.
Police have issued an updated photograph and are appealing directly to Gary Anderson to hand himself in.
He is described as around 5-foot-11, of slim build, with brown hair.
Police are also appealing to anyone who may have seen him, or who was in the Eastway area on Monday around the time he was last seen, particularly anyone with relevant footage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
