Bonagee United have been beaten 2-1 by Mervue United in the FAI National League in Galway this afternoon.
The home side started brightly and were 2-0 up after 21 minutes through Aaron Neary and Donnacha McNamara.
Gary Merritt brought Bonagee back into it on 42 minutes – at half-time it was 2-1 and that is how it remained.
The result means Bonagee are still searching for their first win of the new FAI National League campaign.
Next up, Declan Lynch’s side welcome today’s opponents Mervue to Dry Arch Park in two weeks time.
