The Taoiseach says Sinn Féin has made a ‘strategic error’ in linking a united Ireland to Wales and Scotland’s independence from the UK.

The party’s leaders joined with the First Ministers of the other devolved parliaments in calling for independence from Westminster.

On Monday, a new ‘memorandum of understanding’ was signed aimed at strengthening co-operation between Sinn Féin, the Scottish National Party and Plaid Cymru in Wales.

But Micheál Martin thinks a joint campaign with Scotland and Wales isn’t the best approach to achieving Irish unity:
