Gardaí in Donegal are urging people to be aware of the rules surrounding fireworks as Halloween approaches.
In a social media post, they say fireworks are illegal, carrying a fine of up to €10,000 or 5 years imprisonment or both, and are the cause of many injuries every year.
People are being asked to act responsibly and alert Gardaí if they come across the use or sale of fireworks.
If you have any information in relation to people who are engaging in anti social behaviour, selling fireworks or stockpiling materials for bonfires, please contact your local 24/7 Garda Station.
