With an Orange Weather Warning in place for Donegal this evening and tonight, Donegal County Council is being urged to ensure there are places of safety available for people who live in defective concrete affected homes or other temporary residences such as mobile homes.
The issue was raised this week at a meeting of the council’s Defective Blocks Committee by Cllr Joy Beard, who says with plenty of warning about the imminent storm, the council needs to be ready to respond to people’s needs.
Yesterday, council confirmed it has activated its Severe Weather Assessment Team, and resources are at a heightened state of readiness.
Cllr Beard says that must include shelter for people whose homes are unsafe……………….
