Tyra Banks’s hit TV show America’s Next Top Model is leaving the runway after the latest series.
The modelling competition will finish in December, with the current season’s finale screened on CW in the US.
In a statement, network president Mark Pedowitz called the series “a global pop culture phenomenon”.
Tyra, the programme’s host and executive producer, has recently launched the syndicated daytime talk show FABLife.
America’s Next Top Model debuted in 2003 on the now-defunct UPN channel and was the first series on fledgling CW in 2006. It is shown on Sky Living in the UK.
More recent series have featured plus size or “fiercely real” models and male models – with its first male winner crowned in Cycle 21.
Tyra tweeted about the show’s end, saying she felt it was the right time.
Ironically the British version of the show is making a comeback next year, after being axed in 2013. Britain And Ireland’s Next Top Model will be hosted by former contestant Abbey Clancy when it returns on Lifetime in 2016.
