Update: A man and woman in their 30s have died in serious road traffic crash in Newtowncunningham

 

 
It’s understood a man and a woman in their 30s have died, one other man is in a serious condition while several others have been injured. in a road traffic crash outside Newtowncunningham.
The crash occurred approximately half a mile from the village of Newtowncunningham on the main road to Letterkenny.
All traffic has been asked to take alternative routes as the road is expected to be closed until Saturday afternoon.
Traffic from Letterkenny going to Inishowen or Derry is asked to travel via the N13 to Lifford
Traffic from Derry and Inishowen directions is asked to travel via St Johnston to Lifford.
Motorists are also advised that due to the recent rainfall side roads may not suitable so stick with diverted routes.
Diversion signage will be in place so please follow to avoid congestion.
Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the scene.
