Institute have reached the fifth round of the Irish Cup after beating Limavady junior side Newtowne on penalties last night at Drumahoe.
Stephen Mc Laughlin gave the Derry men the lead with a header on twenty four minutes before Ryan Logue equalised just past the hour mark.
The visitors finished the game with ten men but stute couldn’t make the numerical advantage count, so after extra time penalties were required.
The unfortunate Daryl Mullan was to miss from 12 yards before Garbhan Friel fired home to give Stute a 5-4 shoot-out win.
Kevin Deery’s men will play either Dergview or Sport & Leisure Swifts in the fifth round at the start of next month.
