LYIT win Colleges Semi Final in Carlow

The Letterkenny Institute of Technology beat IT Carlow 5 – 4 after extra time in this afternoon’s Colleges and Universities Football League Division One Semi Final.
Dean Larkin, Peter Doherty and Paul Mc Veigh scored for the LYIT in the ninety minutes as it finished 3-3 at full time.
In extra time, McVeigh grabbed his second to put Letterkenny ahead again but Carlow hit back to equalise and leave the score at 4-4.
Anthony Appiah score the ninth goal of the game just before half time in extra time to edge Letterkenny in front one more time and seal their passage through to the final.
Dundalk or Maynooth await Letterkenny in the final with a date yet to be confirmed.
