There’s been a widespread welcome for yesterday’s public confirmation that part of Star Wars Episode 8 will be filmed around Malin Head, as well as further filming around Skellig Michael in Kerry, which featured prominently at the end of Episode 7.
Filming in Donegal is expected to get underway in May, and a number of B&Bs and rental homes have already been booked out for the production.
The chief executive of the Irish Film Board, James Hickey, said last evening the board is delighted to welcome the production of Star Wars: Episode 8 to some of the most spectacular locations along the Wild Atlantic Way.
