A public meeting has taken place over the future of animal welfare in Donegal following the closure of Donegal Pet Rescue.
Issues discussed during the meeting included the need for a re-homing centre to be set up in the county and the need to organise a co-op to act as the umbrella for all the animal rescue groups in Donegal.
Gary Cooney, one of the founding members of Donegal Pet Rescue said the meeting has given more hope for those aspirations to become a reality:
