Finn Harps suffered their third defeat of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division campaign on Friday night losing 1-0 to Galway United at Eamonn Deacy Park.
The games goal came just before the hour mark from Vinny Faherty.
Kevin Devaney provided a low cross for Faherty to sink home at the back post.
Harps did have chances with Ryan Curran hitting over the crossbar and then sticking the ball wide after a Galway defensive mix up while Dave Scully’s header just missed the target.
Galway almost made it 2-0 seven minutes after they scored the first but Killian Cantwell headed wide and thirteen minutes from time they were in again but Enda Curran’s shot failed to hit the net.
Galway who have yet to concede at home in the league go joint second in the table with Dundalk, three points behind leaders Derry City.
Harps are back in action on Monday night for the rearranged game with St. Pats in Ballybofey.
