Two top Donegal athletics bosses have praised the organisers of the North West 10k and said their own jobs are to help athletes achieve their best possible performances.
Athletics Association of Ireland deputy president John Cronin, from Downings, and Athletics Ireland’s competition committee member Paddy Marley, from Milford, were in the Sunday Sport studio today.
Downings man John (pictured) was appointed as the new vice-president of the AAI at its congress last month.
He was named along with new president Georgina Drumm, from Co Louth, at the top of the organisation.
He has vowed to do all he can over the next two years of his tenure to do his best in his new role and hopes to get a second term.
Paddy, who was manager of the Irish athletics team at the 1994 Barcelona Olympics, said it’s great to have so many Donegal people at the top end of the game.
