Martin O’Neill says that he’s facing some tough selection decisions as he prepares to reveal his Euro2016 squad.
Ahead of Friday’s friendly against The Netherlands, the Ireland manager has admitted that he’s not looking forward to informing several players that they won’t be making the cut for the tournament.
O’Neill has also eased fears over the fitness of Shane Long and James McCarthy, who sat out today’s training.
Long needed stitches to a cut on his knee while McCarthy has a thigh injury.
The Republic manager says McCarthy will be fit for this summers tournament.
Meanwhile Ciaran Clark was back training today.
Clark, who has strong connections to Milford didn’t take part yesterday due to a calf strain.
