A stand-off between about 200 loyalists and republicans in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast ended last night when members of the Orange order dispersed shortly after reaching a PSNI barrier.
There was a significant police presence in the surrounding area.
Elsewhere, parades marking the Twelfth passed off virtually without incident.
Among the main events were parades in Aughnacloy, Newtownstewart and Coagh in County Tyrone, and Limavady and Castledawson in County Derry.
The PSNI’s Assistant Chief Constable released statement overnight, saying he’s pleased that yesterday’s parades passed off largely successfully, following months of preparation by the PSNI together with many groups and community partners.
