Donegal County Council is being urged to provide funding for remedial works to allow the cemetery at the Old Abbey in Kilmacrennan be opened for visitors.
Cllr John O’Donnell told this week’s meeting of Letterkenny Municipal District that No Entry signs have been placed around the cemetery, preventing some people from visiting loved ones buried there.
The council says it is working with the Kilmacrennan Abbey Preservation Society to secure funding for stabilisation works, but Cllr O’Donnell says that’s not enough…………….
