A Donegal County Councillor has revealed that a review is to take place on a national level with regard to the impact of the School Transport Scheme on the ability of students to attend certain schools.
The news comes following renewed concerns about pupils from the Urris area of Inishowen having to travel to Buncrana instead of Carndonagh, becauase the School Transport Scheme deems the Mamore Gap to be a suitable road for a bus to use.
Councillor Nicholas Crossan says while it may not make a difference to those attending schools this year he is confident the review will have a positive outcome for next year’s students..l
