Storm Ophelia is forecast to hit Donegal this evening at approximately 6 o’clock.
One person has died in Waterford as a result of the storm and almost 170,000 homes are without power.
Met Eireann forecasters expect Donegal will experience spells of heavy rain before high winds set in.
