Senator Jimmy Harte has described an attempted High Court Challenge to the co-option of his replacement on Donegal County Council as a bitter and personalised attack.
Letterkenny solicitor Dessie Sheils is seeking to bring a High Court challenge to the co-option of Councillor Michael McBride who replaced Jimmy Harte on his election to the Seanad.
The basis of the High Court Challenge is that the post should have been filled by a non-party candidate.
Labour insists that Councillor Michael McBride was not and is still not a member of the party.
