Gardai have confirmed that they continue to investigate a number of recent incidents at Letterkenny University Hospital with a senior investigating officer appointed to oversee the investigation.
It comes following the death of Joe McCarron from Dungloe who was laid to rest yesterday.
While receiving treatment for Covid-19 at Letterkenny University Hospital, the 67 year old left the hospital in the presence of anti-vaccine campaigners against the advice of medical staff.
He was readmitted to hospital a number of days later and placed on a ventilator and passed away on Friday.
Gardai say they have no further comment at this time.
