The Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau is warning that anyone is only one click, tap or swipe away from being the victim of a cyber crime.
There’s been a noted increase in the number of cyber crimes in Ireland since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Gardai say there has been a rise also in Irish businesses being targeted in hacking and ransomware incidents.
Speaking following the launch of Cyber Awareness Week in Donegal, Detective Inspector Brian Halligan of the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau says those working from home are also vulnerable to cyber criminals:
