Beluga Whale trapped in river Seine has died

A Beluga whale, which had been trapped in the River Seine in France since Friday, has died.

A team 80 volunteers including  fire crews, divers and vets had been working to free the 13ft long mammal in a huge operation.

Officials say it was “dangerously thin” and was unable to survive in the river’s freshwater habitat.
