There are calls for the government to establish a temporary passport office in the North–West.
The ongoing industrial action means that the passport office in Dublin is not fast tracking passport applications submitted by Oireachtas members on behalf of their constituents.
Raising the issue Donegal Deputy Joe McHugh says those in desperate need of a passport are facing an 11 hour round trip to Dublin to get it processed personally.
