Donegal County Council is to ask the government to prioritise the Letterkenny campus of Atlantic Technological University when it comes to the provision of on campus accommodation.
The council passed an emergency motion moved by Cllr Michael McBride at a plenary council meeting this week, in which he argued preferential treatment is not just desirable, it is essential.
Cllr McBride says the number of Ukrainian refugees in the county, coupled with the Mica rebuilding programme, will put existing accommodation options under sever strain, and that must be acknowledged and acted on:
