Chair appointed to oversee Omagh Bomb inquiry

The Northern Secretary has appointed a chair to oversee an inquiry into the 1998 Omagh Bomb.

Lord Andrew Turnbull served as Cabinet Secretary in the UK from 2002 to 2005.

He’ll have the power to summon witnesses and collect documents examining evidence into the preventability of the County Tyrone bombing.

It killed 29 people and two unborn children, as well as injuring 220 others.
