Record numbers of women suffering domestic abuse sought the support of frontline services last year.
Women’s Aid says numbers are up 16 per cent on 2021 – the highest in the organisation’s 50 year history.
Its support workers heard 33,990 disclosures of domestic abuse against women and children in 2022.
