The North’s Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, will not be attending the funeral of murdered prison officer, David Black tomorrow – reportedly because the family doesn’t want him there.
A Sinn Fein spokesperson says Mr McGuinness would be happy to attend if the family requested it.
Mr Black, a father of two, was gunned down on the M1 on his way to work in Maghaberry jail last week.
Dissident Republicans are being blamed for his murder.
Meanwhile, a minute’s silence has been held in the Assembly today for David Black.
