Construction on a new school building for Colaiste Ailigh in Letterkenny is to begin in the coming days.
The final go-ahead has been given after a a €50 million loan was cleared with the European Investment Bank for the delivery of eight new schools across the country using the Public Private Partnership model.
The new 350 pupil school in Letterkenny should be complete by early 2014.
