Unions representing community and voluntary sector workers are meeting for talks at the Workplace Relations Commission.
Section 39 organisations, which are privately owned agencies that carry out services on behalf of the State, are looking for pay parity.
Healthcare workers from this sector have already voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.
Damian Ginley of SIPTU, which represents those workers, says they’ll serve notice if there is no breakthrough during these talks:
